How to Subscribe to a Team Calendar

A SportsCalz calendar is a subscription, not a one-time download. Once it is added, your calendar app checks it on its own, so game time changes and final scores show up without you doing anything. It is free and you do not need an account.

Start on your team’s page. The box at the top shows the button that fits your phone or computer first. These are the same steps in more detail.

iPhone, iPad or Mac (Apple Calendar)

1. Tap Add to iPhone or Mac Calendar.
2. Your device asks whether to subscribe. Tap Subscribe.
3. Confirm on the next screen. The games appear in the Calendar app, listed under Subscribed.

If you use the Google Calendar app on your iPhone instead of Apple’s Calendar app, follow the Google steps below.

Google Calendar on a computer

1. Click Add to Google Calendar. Google Calendar opens and asks Add calendar?
2. Click Add. The calendar shows on the left under Other calendars.
3. Your phone picks it up on its own, because it is now part of your Google account.

Google Calendar on an Android phone or iPhone

Google’s phone app cannot add a calendar from a link. Google only allows it from a computer, so this takes one trip to a computer, and after that it is on your phone for good.

1. On your phone, tap Email me the Google Calendar link and send the email to yourself.
2. On a computer, open that email and click the link. Google asks Add calendar? Click Add.
3. On an Android phone, if the games have not appeared after a few minutes, open the Google Calendar app, tap the menu in the top left, tap Settings, tap the team’s calendar and turn on Sync.

Outlook on the web (Outlook.com)

1. Click Add to Outlook.com. Outlook on the web opens Subscribe from web with the calendar already filled in.
2. Click Import.
3. It shows in Outlook on the web and in the Outlook phone app for that same Microsoft account. The Outlook phone app cannot add it by itself, so do this step on a computer.

Using Outlook through work or school? Use the “work or school” link in the Outlook section of the team page instead.

The Outlook app on your computer

The Outlook.com button adds the calendar to the Microsoft account you sign in to on the web. Your desktop Outlook shows it only if that same account is added to the app. Many people run desktop Outlook with Gmail or other email accounts instead. If that is you, add the calendar in the app itself. Open “Using the Outlook app on your computer?” in the Outlook section of the team page and tap Copy link, then:

Classic Outlook for Windows: open the Calendar, then on the Home tab choose Add Calendar, then From Internet. Paste the link, click OK, then Yes.

New Outlook for Windows: open the Calendar, choose Add calendar, then Subscribe from web. Paste the link and click Import.

Outlook for Mac: it cannot subscribe to a calendar link by itself. Add it with the Outlook.com button, and it shows on the Mac when that Microsoft account is signed in there.

Any other calendar app

1. Tap Copy link in the “Another calendar app” section.
2. In your calendar app, look for Add calendar, then From URL, Subscribe or From internet.
3. Paste the link and save.

How fast changes show up

Each calendar app checks for changes on its own schedule. Google Calendar and Outlook can take up to a day, so a late change to a game time may show up on the team page first.

Removing a calendar

Delete the subscribed calendar in your calendar app’s settings. Nothing else is needed, because SportsCalz does not ask for an account.
